(More customer reviews)I purchased the CH HVLP sprayer as an alternative to a compressor plus gun setup for spraying clear finishes as well as interior trim paint. The previous CH products that I had purchased had been great. This one has beena great disappointment.
First, the transfer of material to the surfacebeing painted appears to be about as inefficient as a normal high pressuresprayer. This is especially true when spraying higher viscosity coatingsthat require more airflow in order to move them. The second issue is thefineness of the spray pattern. This unit produces a pretty rough and unevenpattern compared with other units. The air supply hose is a real handicapas it is not only too stiff for easy use, but it has a really nastychemical smell that just doesn't go away.
Summary, I have a CHcompressor, an airless sprayer and this HVLP. I can reccommend the firsttwo without hesitation. This last is just not worth it. Get a Fuji, Apolloor perhaps the top of the line Wagner. They are all $500 or more, but atleast they do the job.

(More customer reviews)This product has a strong (really strong) smell of rubber/chemicals. Similar to how a car tire fitting place smells. I left them in my office with an electric fan blowing on them over a 3 day weekend, and by Monday morning my entire office smelled of rubber and chemicals (I even left the office door open during the weekend). Eventually I gave up trying to de-odorize them and just sealed them inside two plastic bags and left them there. (one plastic bag wasn't enough !!) I'm not normally affected by strange smells etc. I worked in NYC and rode the subway to work for 20 years. But these things were just over powering.

(More customer reviews)This is an add-on "dead-man" shut-off valve and nozzle assembly for use with pressure-pot sandblasters like the cheaper ones from Harbor Freight.If you don't already have one of those, this won't be very useful except possibly as a novel paperweight or something to throw into the corner to relieve frustration.

I bought mine at a local tool store; it is the same Pit Bull branded package.

Contrary to what the package says, it comes with 4 extra ceramic nozzles, but no wrench.
The nozzles are 5 different sizes, ranging from about 0.087" diameter to about 0.123".(Take those measurements with a grain of salt... it's not easy to measure them, and the nozzles are tapered inside.They're definitely not all the same size.)

Installation: it screws directly onto the original shutoff valve body after removing the old tip assembly and wrapping some Teflon tape around the threads.

How well does it work?Um, I don't know yet.There's a problem with the motor on my two-cylinder compressor, and when I took the motor apart, more things broke and I discovered that replacement parts are hard to come by.I'll see if I can do some spot blasting with the little compressor, using the smallest diameter tip.

Smith 30 Series Co2 Regulator Review

(More customer reviews)I got this regulator to help me with the pressure of my airline for my paint gun.I attached quick disconnects to each end and I thought I was ready to go.

The second I hooked it up to my airline, I heard air escaping.I thought maybe I need to tighten the quick disconnects I just put on.I was suprised to learn that the air was escaping from around the air flow adjustment knob.So I turned the knob and the air stopped escaping.I thought the problem was solved - however, it was only delayed because the second I plugged anything into the regulator, it would leak from this same spot.

Even if an air leak was acceptable, I still couldn't get any change from the pressure gauge when adjusting the knob.So I plugged in my paint gun and then the pressure dropped (I guess the regulator was now in effect).The second that the paint gun was stopped, the pressure on the gauge would rise back to the line pressure.So you can only set the pressure with something connected to the regulator AND air flowing.

So, even if an air leak was acceptable AND something must be connected and running to set the pressure, I was unable to set the pressure to anything stable.The knob connects to a internal bar with a hole through it - so the knob at setting 0 degrees doesn't let any air through, and the setting at 90 degrees lets all air through.Anyone that has worked with air knows you don't need much flow, so even a setting of 5 degrees is about the same as a setting of 90 degrees.So the knob is basically worthless, and fine adjustments are impossible - if there is any change in airflow, line pressure, or you sneeze - the pressure down stream of this regulator will change.

If you want similar performance - save your money and use a clamp on your air line hose - you'll have better performance, repeatability, and less air loss. Don't buy this regulator - it's not worth anything.I'm removing the guage to use on a REAL pressure guage that I have - the rest is junk.
